High above São Romão, on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, Villa Sentia was made to be felt — Sentia comes from the Latin sentire, to feel, and echoes the Greek ataraxia, serenity. A recently designed home made for slowing down: mountain days and padel, spa evenings, and a sunset that melts into the infinity pool.

Serra da Estrela from Villa Sentia
Villa Sentia sits in São Romão, a few minutes from Seia, right at the gateway to Serra da Estrela Natural Park. If you are looking for a holiday home in Serra da Estrela with a pool, this is a calm base: you can drive up to Torre, the highest point of mainland Portugal, in under an hour, passing Lagoa Comprida and the winding road across the plateau.
In winter, snow covers the mountain and the Torre ski slopes open; back at the house the private spa is waiting — a Serra da Estrela villa with a hot tub, outdoor sauna and cold plunge, open all year. In summer, the river beaches around Loriga and Seia are the perfect escape, and the infinity pool follows the sunset until the very last light.
Hiking trails start almost at the door: the glacial Zêzere valley, Covão d'Ametade with its birch trees, Sabugueiro — the highest village in Portugal — and Loriga, set among stone terraces. Along the way, taste Serra da Estrela cheese, regional bread and mountain honey.

01When is the pool open?+
The infinity pool is open from 1 April to 1 November. Outside this period the pool is closed, but the jacuzzi (38 °C), sauna, cold plunge and padel courts work all year.
02Can we use the spa in winter?+
Yes — the jacuzzi at 38 °C, outdoor sauna and cold plunge operate 365 days a year.
03Is there parking?+
Yes — private parking outside the house for 3 cars.
04Are pets allowed?+
Yes, pets are welcome for an additional €50 per pet per stay.
05Are towels and linen included?+
Yes — towels and bed linen are included, along with personal hygiene products.
06Does the house have heating?+
Yes — air conditioning in every room, a fireplace with free wood for winter stays, high-speed Wi-Fi and a barbecue.
07How do we reach the house?+
The house is in São Romão — Seia, at Calçada Ladeira de Maceira. Full directions will be sent before check-in.
08Is padel equipment provided?+
Yes — padel rackets are available.

Who we are
We are Gabriel and Ana. Villa Sentia wasn't born as an investment project — it was born from our life. We built it while living in it, finishing each space slowly over the past few years.
This is where we made memories and a home: mornings on the padel court, afternoons in the mountains, the sauna when the cold sets in, the plunge into icy water, and that sunset that still makes us stop, day after day.
Every choice in the house was made with wellbeing in mind — the light, the materials, the silence, the ritual of heat and cold. It isn't a hotel: it's our home, and now we're opening the door so you can live it the way we do.
